Autonomous technology combined with remote monitoring and control is expected to have major impact on how we move goods and people around the world’s oceans in the future. The capabilities of this technology have grown significantly over the last decade and have reached the level were self-driving vessels and vehicles is no longer an unrealistic vision. However, there are still important steps to be taken to ensure that such systems can be applied in a safe and predictable manner even when the consequences of failure are high.

We will help the industry tackle this transformation by creating an accepted framework for assurance of autonomous ship technology and a corresponding toolset for effective assessment of new technology elements. We will share insight into autonomous ship technology and how this will impact the maritime industry with regards to risk, operation, and business.
